In 1998 Peel Regional Council established the Peel Regional Task Force on Homelessness to respond to the challenges of homelessness. The Task Force made recommendations for both immediate and long-term strategies and identified shortages and gaps in the range of resources and services that were then available to address homelessness in the region.
With the support of Regional Council, Region of Peel Departments work together to address the root causes of homelessness and to plan, fund and deliver a continuum of supports and services to help adults, youth and families become stable and self-sufficient.
