Transhelp's Mission:

A Quality Regional Service: "Working together to enhance the lives of those unable to use conventional transit."

To use Transhelp:

1) You must be eligible

You are eligible to use Transhelp if you are a resident of the Region of Peel and are unable to use conventional transit with or without an escort, i.e.
  • Unable to go up and down three stairs
  • Unable to walk 175 metres without assistance

2) You must register

Registration requires assessment by a health care professional employed by Transhelp, unless you are in a wheelchair.

Call Transhelp at 905-791 1015 select option 8.

3) You must pay the fare

Minimum 10 one way rides cost $22.50

All Transhelp rides must be prepaid in advance, by direct payment, cheque or VISA. It is critical that you keep track of your own balance. To prepay, call 905-791-1015, ext. 6853 for more information.

If you are registered on another para-transit service, you may book Transhelp provided you prepay your rides and use equipment that can be safely accommodated on our vehicles.

For all one-way trips, please plan to be on board the Transhelp bus for up to one hour if travelling within one municipality, 90 minutes between municipalities.

To request a ride:

Call 905-791-1015 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday
  • Provide your Transhelp I.D. number.
  • Provide date and time of requested ride, and appointment time if any. When specifying your appointment time, allow a few extra minutes in case of delays.
  • Provide pick-up and drop-off addresses.
  • State mobility devices (i.e. scooter or electric wheelchair). List any medical conditions that may require extra boarding or waiting time.
  • State number of travel companions. Passengers may bring up to two companions, who must each pay the fare.
  • Passengers who are unable to communicate must travel with an escort, who does not have to pay.
  • Passengers are advised to book late return rides for at least one hour before the location they are travelling from closes. This will ensure shelter and telephone access if the ride is late.
  • Specify the type of ride you require, as follows:
Permanent Ride
  • For trips to work or an educational institute.
  • For regularly scheduled appointments, when you need to get to the same place at the same time on a regular basis.

Once your permanent ride starts you only need to call again to change, suspend or renew it.

Occasional Ride
  • For shopping trips or outings.
  • For occasional appointments.

Book by noon one working day before your ride or up to two weeks in advance if your schedule permits.

Remember to please confirm your trip anytime after 2 p.m. the business day before your ride.

Same Day Request

  • For unplanned outings.

We cannot guarantee you a ride on short notice, but we will try to fit you into any cancellations we receive.

Stand-By Ride

If we cannot accommodate your request for a ride of any sort, we will place you on our stand-by list. As soon as a space becomes available, we will contact you.

Please remember, when riding Transhelp you must:

  • Wear your belt unless medically excused.
  • Ensure that carry-on items can be safely managed by you, your escort or companion.
  • Refrain from giving gifts to our staff.
  • Meet the bus at the predetermined accessible entrance.
  • If you require periodic medication or supplies, have enough with you in case of delay.
If you no longer require your ride:

You must call to cancel by noon the business day before or you will be charged for the ride.

To cancel, call 905-791-1015, select option 1 to cancel through the IVR or Ext 8 to cancel through the CSR.

The day of your ride:

Please call one business day ahead to confirm your ride. The customer service representative will give you a time to be ready and a time by which you can report a late ride. Write this information down.

Please be at the designated building entrance. The driver will come to the door to look for you. If you are not there at the scheduled time your driver will leave a "Sorry, we missed you" note and go on to the next scheduled stop. You will be charged for missed rides. Please remember to call if you no longer require a ride.

If you seldom miss your ride, but have done so for a reason beyond your control, call the Control Clerk at ext. 6853 to find out if you are eligible for "fare forgiveness".

Transit Hours

Transit service is available:

  • Monday to Friday 6:30 am to 11:30 pm
  • Saturday 9 am to 11:30 pm
  • Sunday & Holidays 9 am to 10 pm

When you confirm a ride for a weekend or after 6 p.m. on a weekday, you will be provided with the name of the taxi company to call if your ride is late.

For trips originating in Brampton:

  • Bram City 905-455-7777

For trips originating in Mississauga:

  • Blue and White 905-274-4444

If in doubt, call Bram City in Brampton or Blue and White in Mississauga.
