Humidifier Rebate Program

The Humidifier Rebate Program provides Peel residents and property owners with rebates of $30 or $70 when they purchase Peel-Approved water efficient furnace-mounted humidifier.

Many furnace-mounted humidifiers waste large quantities of water (up to 200 litres of water per day). Over one heating season that is enough water to completely fill 126 bathtubs!

By switching to a Peel-Approved water efficient humidifier, you can reduce the amount of unnecessary water wasted, protect our natural resources, and save money on your water bill.

The rebate program provides:

• $30 rebates to residents or property owners who purchase new Peel-Approved humidifiers that send less than 50 litres of water to the drain per day; or,
• $70 rebates on high-efficiency humidifiers that send less than 10 litres of water to the drain per day.

All humidifiers on the Peel-Approved list have been tested for water savings.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for a rebate you must meet the following requirements:

1. Own or rent a single family dwelling in the Region of Peel. Single family dwellings include: single detached houses, semi-detached houses, multiplex units, and individual townhouses, on either municipal or private water services.
2. Have a water service account, in good standing with the Region of Peel;
3. Purchase a humidifier from the Region’s Peel-Approved list (PDF 16KB, 1 page), and install it in a residence located in the Region of Peel;
4. Purchase an eligible humidifier on or after January 1, 2010.

How to Apply

• Select an eligible water-efficient humidifier from the Peel-Approved list (PDF 26KB, 1 page)
• Purchase and install the humidifier
• Complete the application (PDF 108kb, 2 pages)
• Attach the original sales receipt for the humidifier to completed application
• Mail or drop off your completed application to:

We recommend keeping a copy of the completed application and sales receipt for your records.

• Your rebate cheque will be mailed to you within six to eight weeks
