Lay of the Land
You can start by grabbing a pad and pen, looking at your garden and asking yourself the following questions:
- Do you need more space for the kids to play, or for your dog to run?
- Observe your yard at different hours of the day - which areas are most affected by the sun, shade and wind?
- Are there places where water gathers when it rains? Do you notice a slope or hillside that gets very dry in the summer?
- Is the soil hard or soft? Adding compost each year improves your soil and will help with the success of your fusion landscape.
