Peel Children’s Water Festival activities and guidelines
Guidelines for attending the 2024 Festival and activities taking place.
We’re inviting Grade 2-5 teachers to use Heart Lake Conservation Park as a classroom!
During the Peel Children’s Water Festival, students learn about water and its role in our natural environment. Our exciting activities and events always leave a lasting impression!

Cost
The cost of attending is $10 per student. Teachers and chaperones can attend for free.
Payment (by cheque) is required before attending and is due before Friday, May 3, 2024.
Transportation
The Peel Children’s Water Festival provides bus service for getting to and from your school and Heart Lake Conservation Park. The transportation cost is included in the $10 student fee.
Please note that transportation will not be confirmed until payment is received.
School departure times:
- Mississauga – 9:15 a.m.
- Caledon – 9:30 a.m.
- Brampton – 9:45 a.m.
Heart Lake departure times:
- To schools in Mississauga – 1:30 p.m.
- To schools in Caledon – 1:15 p.m.
- To schools in Brampton – 1:30 p.m.
Weather
The Peel Children’s Water Festival takes place rain or shine. Please ensure that you, your chaperones, and your students are prepared and dressed appropriately for the weather and are wearing comfortable shoes.
Meeting points for chaperones
If you are not arriving with your school, parking will be clearly marked upon entry. Please discuss a meeting point in advance.
Supervision
We require one adult supervisor or chaperone for every 8 students at the Festival.
- Chaperones are expected to accompany their group at all times.
Lunch
- Food and drinks are not sold at the Festival.
- Please use reusable food and beverage containers to store lunches.
- Please use reusable cutlery and napkins.
- Water stations are onsite for reusable water bottles.
- Bring a small knapsack or bag to carry your lunch with you, as a central area for storing lunches may not be available.
Photography and video
- Be sure to tell parents and guardians that Peel Region employees might take candid photographs and video of students visiting the Festival.
- These photos and videos are used for promotional purposes only.
First aid
- Peel Paramedics will be onsite.
- Members of our Safety Team will be wearing Festival t-shirts and red caps and will be located throughout the Festival grounds.
