Resource Summary
Yellow Fish Road
Description:
The Yellow Fish Road storm drain marking program helps to show kids the direct link between the roadside storm drain inlets on your street and the underground storm drainage system that conducts rainwater to our local creeks and on to Lake Ontario.
Teachers can register their class for an in-school presentation with our Sustainable Water Home 3D teaching model, receive a Yellow Fish Road Program Guide, and/or register with Trout Unlimited Canada and the City of Mississauga to conduct a storm drain painting event . During the event students identify storm drains by painting cute yellow fish and delivering the provided Yellow Fish door hangers flyers to homes in the area of the painting event. Materials for the event are provided free of charge.
The City of Mississauga is a Yellow Fish Road Storm Drain Marking program partner with Trout Unlimited Canada. Registered participants following the Yellow Fish Road Program Guide are insured through Trout Unlimited Canada.
