Resource Summary

Grown in Peel Buy Local Guide

  • The Grown in Peel Buy Local guide, which includes both a website and brochure, showcases local agriculture. This is an opportunity for farms and farmers' markets in Peel to raise awareness of what they have to offer, including vegetables and fruit, meats, honey, maple syrup, baked goods, garden supplies, wine and more.

The guide works toward achieving a vision to create a Community for Life in Peel, approved by Regional Council in 2015. In addition, the guide plays a role in raising awareness of the Greater Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance Action Plan by promoting local agriculture and connecting producers with local markets. It also supports the work of Peel Public Health’s initiatives to increase Peel residents’ access to safe, healthier foods.
