THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF PEEL
 
BY-LAW NUMBER 36-2001
 

A by-law to provide that by-laws regulating traffic passed by an area municipality do not require the approval of the Regional Council.



WHEREAS subsection 34(3) of the Regional Municipalities Act as reenacted by the Statutes of Ontario, 2000, c.5, s.21 authorizes the Regional Council to pass by-laws to provide that by-laws regulating traffic passed by area municipalities specified in the by-law do not require the approval of the Regional Council;

AND WHEREAS subsection 34(3) of the Regional Municipalities Act has been made applicable to The Regional Municipality of Peel by the enactment of section 3 of Schedule J to the Government Efficiency Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.9;

NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby enacted by the Council of the Regional Municipality of Peel as follows:

1. That no by-law passed by the City of Mississauga, the City of Brampton or the Town of Caledon for the regulation of traffic on a highway under the jurisdiction and control of each such area municipality shall require the approval of the Regional Council.
