WHEREAS paragraph 1 of section 228 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 2001, chapter M.25, states that a municipality shall appoint a clerk;

AND WHEREAS the office of Clerk has become vacant following the retirement of the incumbent;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Corporation has by resolution passed on the 23rd day of January 2003 authorized the appointment of Charlotte Katharine Gravlev to the office of Clerk and the repeal of by-laws previously enacted for appointments to the office of Clerk;

NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:

1. That Charlotte Katharine Gravlev be appointed to the office of Clerk of The Regional Municipality of Peel to be effective on the 23rd day of January 2003, to carry out the duties of the Clerk prescribed by law and to carry out those duties assigned to the Clerk within the Corporate Services Department at the remuneration determined from time to time under the policies and procedures applicable to employees of the Regional Corporation.

2. That By-law 103-94 is hereby repealed.
