THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF PEEL
 
BY-LAW NUMBER 3-2008
 

A by-law to amend By-law 17-2007 titled the “Waste Management System Fees and Charges By-law, 2007 and to repeal By-law 38-2007 ”.


WHEREAS the Council of The Regional Municipality of Peel (“Regional Corporation”), on February 15, 2007 enacted By-law 17-2007 to establish the waste management system fees and charges in accordance with Schedule A attached thereto;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Corporation on April 19, 2007 enacted By-law 38-2007 to amend By-law 17-2007 to include disposal costs for hazardous waste from Small Quantity Generators;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Corporation has by resolution adopted on January 24, 2008, authorized the enactment of the by-law herein to further amend By-law 17-2007;

NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:

  1. Schedule B attached to By-law 17-2007 is deleted. Schedule A attached to By-law 17-2007 is deleted and replaced with Schedule A attached hereto.

  2. By-law 38-2007 is repealed.

  3. Despite these amendments, the waste management system fees and charges set out in Schedule A to By-law 17-2007 and the disposal costs for hazardous waste from small quantity generators set out in Schedule B to By-law 17-2007, on the day immediately prior to the day this by-law comes into effect, shall continue to apply to waste management system fees and charges and to disposal costs for hazardous waste from small quantity generators which became payable prior to the date upon which this by-law comes into effect.

  4. By-law 17-2007 is further amended by deleting paragraph 5 and replacing it with the following paragraph:

      5. This By-law may be referred to as the “Waste Management System Fees and Charges By-law”.

  5. This by-law takes effect on the day that it is passed.
