The Regional Chair requested a motion to waive the rules of Procedural By-law 54-1999 to extend the General Committee meeting curfew to finish the remaining items on the agenda.
RECOMMENDATION GC-28-2002:
That in accordance with Procedural By-law 54-1999, as amended, Section III-2(i), be waived in order that the January 17, 2002 Special General Committee meeting continue past 3:30 p.m.

Departure from the Region of Peel of Joseph Pennachetti, Treasurer and Commissioner of Finance
Joseph Pennachetti, Treasurer and Commissioner of Finance offered remarks on the successes and challenges of Regional Council, Finance staff and the Region of Peel during his time in the position. He thanked Councillors and staff for their support prior to departing for his new position as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer for the City of Toronto.
Councillors Mullin, Morrison and McCallion thanked Mr. Pennachetti for his service to the Region.
