The EDI is a population-based measure used to assess children’s skills on five developmental domains related to school readiness. Examining results by these domains helps identify developmental strengths and needs within a population of Senior Kindergarten children.
Vulnerability on one or more EDI Domains:
The percentage of children vulnerable on one or more EDI domains and the percentage of children vulnerable on two or more EDI domains in each Service Delivery Area is compared to the overall Peel percentage. There are three ways in which the data for a Service Delivery Area is classified on a map when its vulnerability percentage is compared to Peel:
Significantly below Peel per cent - Service Delivery Areas where children have a statistically significant lower percentage of vulnerability when compared to Peel.
Significantly above Peel per cent - Service Delivery Areas where children have statistically significant higher vulnerability percentages when compared to Peel.
Same as Peel per cent – Service Delivery Areas where children have the same vulnerability percentages as Peel.
