Second Unit Renovation Assistance

The Region of Peel offers grants to eligible homeowners to cover the cost of home repairs and accessibility improvements to existing second units. A second unit is defined as a private, self-contained unit within an existing home, with a separate entrance, its own full kitchen and bathroom, and a separate bedroom(s).

This grant is available to eligible homeowners who are renovating an existing second unit to improve health and safety, increase accessibility and register the unit.

  • Available: until funding runs out
  • Maximum grant: up to $25,000 (one time only)

Grants are provided to eligible homeowners on a first-come, first-served basis.  Applications will no longer be accepted after the funding has run out.
