Centre features

The 64-bed Davis Centre is a one-storey building with high ceilings and spacious hallways and lounges.

Dining room
In 2005, the Davis Centre dining room was expanded and remodelled into a more modern and comfortable space for residents to gather for meals, celebrations and events.

Its high ceiling offers natural light, while its beautiful stone fireplaces make the room look and feel like a northern Ontario chalet.

The Davis Centre garden area stretches throughout the back of the entire building. This enclosed space features a vegetable garden, a patio with a barbeque and quiet sections where residents can rest, bird-watch and spend time with family and friends.

The Vera M. Davis Community Care Centre opened its doors in September 1984. The home was named after Premier Bill Davis’ mother Vera, who was known for her commitment to helping her community.

Helping Hands volunteer program

Established at the centre in 1984, the Helping Hands volunteer group offers friendship, companionship and assistance with many outings for Davis Centre residents and Adult Day Service participants.

Helping Hands volunteers also organize annual bazaars and bake sales. The funds raised at these events are used to further enhance programs for residents.
