Interested in Being a Candidate for the Position of the Peel Regional Chair?
Attend a Candidate Information Session on April 10
BRAMPTON, ON. (Mar. 12, 2018) – In this year’s municipal election on October 22, eligible Peel residents will have an opportunity to vote for the Peel Regional Chair for the first time. The names of the candidates for the position of the Chair will be on the ballot, and Peel electors will vote for their preferred candidate.
The Region of Peel and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs will be holding a Candidate Information Session that will cover key information about becoming a candidate for the position of the Peel Regional Chair.

Where: | Region of Peel Council Chamber 5th Floor, Suite A, 10 Peel Centre Drive Brampton |
The session is open to Peel residents who are interested in being a candidate for the position of the Peel Regional Chair. It will provide information on:
- Regional Chair’s role and duties
- Who can run for the Peel Regional Chair
- Roles and responsibilities of elected officials
- Nomination process and key dates
- General campaign rules
- Campaign and election finances
- Candidate and third party advertiser duties
- Compliance and enforcement
- Voters’ list and proxy voting
- Scrutineers and recounts
Registration is not required.
