The Region of Peel Begins Accepting Electronic Submission of Bids From Vendors

BRAMPTON, ON. (Mar. 26, 2018) - The Region of Peel has launched electronic bidding through bids&tenders™. As of March 26, 2018, vendors no longer need to come in to the Region to submit their bids; they can do that online through the bids&tenders™ platform at their convenience.

bids&tenders™ is an innovative bidding service that makes it easy for vendors to review, register and submit bids for goods and services online, 24/7.

As of March 26, 2018:

"Using bids&tenders will modernize our service to the vendor community by making it more seamless and accessible," said Patricia Caza, Director, Procurement, Region of Peel. "The electronic bidding process means using less paper and saving time for vendors by not having to drive to the Region’s office. Both benefits will contribute to reducing the Region’s carbon footprint."

Other benefits for vendors include receiving unlimited access to bid postings from agencies using bids&tenders™ in Canada and automatic notifications of new bid opportunities when they are posted. An annual subscription fee is $165 and a one-time, pay-per-bid option is also available at $45 per bid. Bid documents can be previewed without the payment.

Digital bid bonds

As of March 26, the Region's only form of bid security will be digital bid bonds. Where bid security is required, vendors will be required to submit a digital bid bond as part of their online bid submission. Vendors are encouraged to contact their sureties well in advance of submitting a bid to arrange for the preparation of any required digital bid bond to ensure that the bid bond is available for submission on closing.
