Region of Peel’s response to the provincial announcement about restoring provincial funding

BRAMPTON, ON (May 29, 2019) – The Region of Peel is pleased with Premier Ford’s decision to restore provincial funding for vital shared public services such as child care, emergency services (paramedics) and public health for the fiscal year 2019-20.

“This is a step in the right direction to ensure that the Region of Peel can continue to provide these essential services,” said Regional Chair Nando Iannicca. “We will continue to explore opportunities for dialogue on how the Province can meet its budget objectives by delivering services efficiently and responsibly, ensuring that tax payers receive value for their hard-earned tax dollars.”
