Peel reminds residents to dispose of ceramic and porcelain tiles properly

BRAMPTON, ON (June 29, 2020) – While staying safe at home, many Peel residents are doing home improvements and a lot of items are being disposed of incorrectly. The Region of Peel reminds residents to dispose of ceramic and porcelain tiles properly. These items do not belong in recycling or in the garbage. They must be taken to a Community Recycling Centre for disposal.

Ceramic and porcelain tiles are not recyclable making it harder to sort at the facility. Residents must put only recyclable items in the blue bin. If unsure of whether an item goes in recycling, check Peel’s waste sorter.

For more information on how to dispose of construction and renovation materials, check peelregion.ca/waste or sign up to receive free weekly waste collection reminders.

The Region of Peel works with residents and partners to create a healthy, safe and connected Community for Life for approximately 1.5 million people and over 175,000 businesses in the cities of Brampton and Mississauga and the Town of Caledon.
