News release: May 18, 2021

All individuals 16 years or older who live, work, or attend school in Peel can now book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment at select clinics

Brampton, ON. (May 18, 2021) – Beginning today at 9 a.m., individuals aged 16 or older who live, work or attend school in Peel will be eligible to book an appointment in Peel Region. Bookings will be accepted for individuals who are 16 or older at the time of vaccination. Pfizer is currently the only vaccine authorized by Health Canada for use in this age group.

How to book

Individuals who are aged 16 to 17 must book an appointment online using the Region of Peel’s booking system. If you need help booking, call the Region of Peel COVID-19 Vaccination Line at 905-791-5202, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week. As per Ministry guidance, appointments will be available at all seven Peel Public Health mass vaccination clinics, as well as the mobile school clinics. Appointments will also be available to book at a William Osler Health System Vaccine Clinic in Peel.

Eligibility for 12 years or older

On Monday, the province also announced that public health units may choose to provide vaccines to those aged 12 and over in clinics where the Pfizer vaccine is offered.

Further information for how Peel youth aged 12 to 15 can access COVID-19 vaccines is expected to be communicated later this week.

Given the interest and demand to book appointments at our clinics, residents are encouraged to book as soon as possible. We ask for patience in booking as given the scale of this effort, there may be wait times to access the website or call centres. Generally, the fastest way to book an appointment is online, which provides real-time availability.
