Participants who attended a hockey tournament at the CAA Centre and Meadowvale Four Rinks Arena on August 27-29 exposed to COVID-19
Brampton, ON. (September 8, 2021) – Peel Public Health urges everyone who attended the Bronko Academy - Toronto Exhibition Series hockey tournament at the CAA Centre located at 7575 Kennedy Rd S, Brampton, and the Meadowvale Four Rinks Arena located at 2160 Torquay Mews, Mississauga, on August 27-29, to get immediate COVID-19 testing because of a confirmed exposure to COVID-19. This applies to all attendees, including those who are fully vaccinated.
Teams that participated came from Toronto, Orangeville, Caledon, Georgetown, Woodbridge, Whitby and other GTA locations.
Everyone seeking testing because of this exposure should give testers the following outbreak number: 2253-2021-46274. Testing locations can be found by Googling “COVID testing near me” with location services enabled. If symptoms develop, individuals should self-isolate away from others.
Organized events are subject to public disclosure of COVID-19 exposures when there are:
- 100 or more people in attendance and two or more confirmed cases associated with the event, and/or
- risk of transmission of COVID-19 to the community because contact tracing is not possible.
