Holiday Season Service and Delivery in the Region of Peel

Brampton, ON. (December 15, 2022) – Region of Peel offices and some non-emergency services will be closed for the holidays from Monday, December 26, 2022, to Monday, January 2, 2023.

The following non-emergency services are closed and will reopen on January 3, 2023:

The following non-emergency services are closed from December 24 to 27, 2022, and December 31, 2022, to January 2, 2023, but will remain open from December 28 to 30, 2022 and reopen for regular service on January 3, 2023:

Needle Exchange Program

The Needle Exchange Program (NEP) will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2022 and January 1 and 2, 2023. The NEP will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on December 24 and 31, 2022 and will resume regular hours of operations from December 27 to 31, 2022 and again on January 3, 2023.

Vaccination Clinics

COVID-19 vaccine clinics and routine school immunization clinics will be closed from December 25 to 28 and on January 1, 2023. Clinics will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 23, 24*, 29, 30 and 31* and will resume regular hours of operations on January 2, 2023.
*There will be no walk-ins past 1 p.m. on December 24 and 31.

Emergency shelter, food, medication, or personal support

For urgent homelessness supports, including food, supplies, referrals, and shelter, call the Street Helpline 24/7 at 1-877-848-8481. For information on emergency shelter, visit the emergency shelter web page or call 905-450-1996.

Peel Living Maintenance Requests

For Peel Living maintenance requests, contact the 24-hour request line at 905-790-7335.

Early Years and Child Care

Child Care Subsidy units will close at 12:00 p.m. on December 23, 2022 and will reopen on January 3, 2023. All other Early Years and Child Care Services are closed from December 26, 2022 to January 3, 2023.

Ontario Works in Peel

The Ontario Works office will be closed at 12:00 p.m. on December 23, 2022 and will reopen on January 3, 2023.

TransHelp

All trips for December 25, 26, and 27 must be booked by 6 p.m. on December 24. All trips for January 1 and 2 must be booked by 6 p.m. on December 31.

On December 25 (Christmas Day), December 26 (Boxing Day) and January 1 (New Year’s Day):

Between December 25 and January 2, the TransHelp office will be closed and unable to process applications, payments or feedback.

Public Transit

Visit Brampton Transit and Mississauga Transit for holiday schedules.

Waste collection Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon

There will be no waste collection on December 26, 2022 and January 2, 2023. Waste will be collected one day later those weeks (Dec 27-30, 2022 and Jan 3-6, 2023). Check your collection calendar to find your pickup day or sign up to receive free waste collection reminders.

All Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2022 and January 1, 2023. CRCs will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on December 24 and 31, 2022 and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from December 27 to 30, 2022. Check http://www.peelregion.ca/waste/ for CRC locations and hours.

Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA)

PAMA will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2022 and January 1, 2023. PAMA will be closing at 2 p.m. on December 24 and 31, 2022. Visit PAMA for a variety of FREE family fun activities this Winter Break.
