Update on construction in your area
Indian Grove. Project 13-1347 H1
The Region of Peel has replaced the aging watermain on Indian Grove as part of our maintenance program. The previous watermain was installed in the 1950s and was at the end of its lifespan.
A larger watermain that provides water to the Lorne Park area was installed along with the smaller (local) watermain on Indian Grove. The local watermain is on one side of the street with the larger watermain on the opposite side of the street.
Completed work
The Contractor has almost completed all asphalt and interlocking brick driveways.
Coming up in the next two weeks
The Contractor will:
- Continue to repair non-asphalt driveways (such as interlock, flagstone, and stamped concrete driveways) including reinstalling paving stone borders of asphalt driveways. Polymeric sand for between the interlocking bricks will be applied to driveways once all brick has been laid.
- Grade and prepare boulevards and lawns to lay sod (grass). Once sod is laid residents are encouraged to help the sod to grow by watering it regularly.
- Driveways are expected to be completed by the end of next week and sod will commence after that.
- Restore any landscaping features damaged by our watermain construction activities.
- Paint lines on road.
Reducing the impact of construction
- For everyone’s safety, please take care and slow down when driving through the active construction area. It is safer if residents access their property from the south end of Indian Grove if their property is south of the active construction area, and from the north end if their property is north of construction.
- If we must shut off your water because of an emergency, we will do everything we can to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
- We will let you know if there are any significant project changes.
