Sanitary Sewer Pumping Station Improvement

Beach Street Sanitary Sewer Pumping Station. Project 15-2905, Assignment 9

The Region of Peel has been working in your neighbourhood to upgrade the Beach Street sanitary sewer pumping station which is located at the end of Aviation Road. This work is required to maintain and improve existing wastewater services.

October 17, 2022 project update

At this stage in the project, we need to divert the wastewater within the sanitary sewer around the pumping station. This will require placing pipes along the road and into existing maintenance holes (commonly called manholes) located on Beach Street and Aviation Road. A temporary road closure will be required to complete this work.

This temporary road closure is expected to occur from October 25th at 7:30 a.m. until October 26th at 7 p.m. During this time, a detour route will be clearly marked with road signs. Residents who live on the street will have access to their homes. No through traffic will be allowed.

Traffic impacts

Aviation Road will be closed to all through traffic at the south end of Aviation Road and Beach Street.

Contractor and working hours

The work will be completed by Kingdom Construction Ltd. and supported by WSP Canada Inc, both under contract to the Region of Peel. This contractor’s normal working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with the local municipality’s bylaws. We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but shorter working days would require your neighbourhood to be under construction for a longer period of time.

Traffic and parking

We may need to temporarily close roads or reduce traffic to a single lane during construction. If we must reroute traffic, we will place signs giving directions. On-street parking will be reduced during construction when we are actively working on your street.
