Sanitary Sewer Replacement and Improvement

Notice of temporary road closure Joymar Drive from Donata Drive to Joycelyn Drive, Project 16-2300-A3B

The Region of Peel has been working in your neighborhood to replace the sanitary sewers and maintenance holes (commonly referred to as manholes). This work will be completed along Joymar Drive, Siberry Road, Andrea Court, Pioneer Drive, Donata Drive, Isherwood Court, Jocelyn Drive, Theodore Drive, Beejay Court, Roy Drive and Turney Drive. This work is required to maintain and improve existing wastewater services

At this stage in the project, we need to dig deep trenches to install new sanitary sewers under Joymar Drive between Donata Drive and Joycelyn Drive. Along this stretch of road, we will also dig trenches to install pipes connecting properties to the new sewer. A temporary road closure will be required to complete this work.

Traffic impacts

Joymar Drive will be closed to through traffic from Donata Drive to Joycelyn Drive. This temporary road closure is expected to occur from September 6, 2022, until September 28, 2022.

During this time, a detour route will be clearly marked with road signs. Please see the attached map for the detour route.

Residents who live on the street will have access to their homes. No through traffic will be allowed and there will be no on-street parking.

This road closure may cause traffic delays. We ask for your patience and will try to minimize any delays.

Contractor and working hours

The work will be completed by D’Orazio Infrastructure Group Limited and supported by R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited, both under contract to the Region of Peel. This contractor’s normal working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with the local municipality’s bylaws. We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but shorter working days would require your neighbourhood to be under construction for a longer period of time.

Safety during construction

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
