Sanitary sewer replacement and improvement
Fair Birch Drive and Birchview Drive. Project 18-2300 C
Project update
To prepare for our future sanitary sewer upgrades project, we will be performing the following activities in the coming weeks:
- Early to mid January 2021 (weather permitting), for approximately 1-2 weeks, we will be
performing test holes to confirm the exact locations of utilities in the area. Approximately
16 test holes will be vacuum excavated at specific locations along the alignment of the
proposed new sewer (within the red boarder in the picture below). All holes will be filled
and restored.
- Late January 2021 (weather permitting), for appromixately 3-4 weeks, Alectra will be relocating the overhead wires at Fair Birch Drive and Birchview Drive underground. Works will occur in and around the intersection.

Working hours
Our normal working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. These hours are consistent with the local municipality’s bylaws. We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but a shorter working day would mean the project would take longer to complete.
Traffic and Parking Control
- We may need to reduce traffic to a single lane during this work.
- If we must temporarily reroute traffic, we will place signs giving directions.
- On-street parking will be reduced during construction.
- Snow clearing will continue as usual.
Driveway Access
- We do not anticipate any interruption to driveway access; however, if it is required for a short duration will contact you before we do this to arrange for the best time and for alternate access, if needed. If your driveway is blocked, you may choose to park on a side street for a short time.
- Please call the Project Manager if you have special needs related to access.
Restoration
- All proposed work is within the public right-of-way; therefore, all restoration will be in accordance with City of Mississauga requirements.
