Watermain and improvement

Watermain Replacement and Improvement Dixie Road between Highway 401 and Britannia Road

The Region of Peel is working in your area to replace the watermain on Dixie Road in the vicinity of Highway 401.

Some upcoming work will take place overnight, in order to complete watermain installation and connections that cannot be completed during the day due to the volume of traffic on Dixie Road. Completing the works during the day would require extensive lane closures would be result in unmanageable traffic delays. This overnight work will occur Dixie Road between Highway 401 and Britannia Road. We apologize in advance for any associated inconveniences.

Schedule

Overnight work is expected to take place for periodically over multiple evening starting November 4, 2022 and continuing until mid-December 2022. Additional nights may be required due to unpredictable delays, such as poor weather conditions.

Traffic impacts

This work will require various lane closures. As well, Shawson Drive at Dixie Road will need to be closed for a short number of days to complete watermain crossing and connection works.Signage in the area will be placed advising of any full closures of Shawson Drive and separate communication will be delivered once the exact dates are known.

Noise

We do not anticipate significant noise or vibrations above normal daytime construction levels during these operations. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts to local businesses as much as possible.

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers.
