Notice of road paving

Watermain replacement and improvement

Kawartha Crescent and Chippewa Trail, City of Mississauga Project 20-1310 F.

The Region of Peel will be repairing the road where it was disturbed by our recent watermain construction.

The road will be restored by the Region’s contractor to enhance the grade and rideability.

Schedule

There has been a delay in completing the paving works due to contractor’s labor force availability. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience.

We expect paving activities to take place on Kawartha Crescent & Chippewa Trail between August 15th and September 2nd,weather permitting.

Regular working hours will be between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday to Friday.

We will provide more detailed timelines through email. Receive these timely updates by signing up for e-notices at peelregion.ca/construction.

Driveway access

You may not have access to your driveway for a short time as the paving operation crosses your driveway.

Road access

Work will be phased to minimize traffic disruption in the area.

Parking

Please do not park on the street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the above dates. Please ensure the road is cleared of vehicles (and any type of materials) at these times.

Before paving operations, you will be asked to park outside the active work area. To provide an alternate parking location, we have arranged for a street parking enforcement exemption from the City of Mississauga for Kawartha Street and Chippewa Trail. This exemption is valid until August 5th. Please note that all other parking laws remain in place, including proper clearance from hydrants and stop signs.

Safety during construction

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
