Watermain replacement and improvement

Fullerton Crescent and Edenwood Drive. Project 21-1310 K

The Region of Peel recently installed new watermains in your neighbourhood, and then repaired driveways, streets, curbs, sidewalks and grassy areas impacted by this construction. This work was completed in the fall of 2021.

We will be returning to your neighbourhood to do some additional repair work on driveways and concrete curbs. This work will take place along Fullerton Crescent and Edenwood Drive. The work will be overseen by Gio Contracting under contract to the Region of Peel.

Construction schedule

This work is planned to occur between July 13th, 2022, and July 22nd, 2022. As this work depends on the weather, these dates may change.

Traffic and parking

We may need to temporarily reduce traffic to a single lane during construction. On-street parking will be reduced during construction when we are actively working on your street.

Driveway repairs

If your driveway requires repairs, a stripe will be paved over the disturbed area, resulting in minimal seams in the final driveway. The Region of Peel cannot replace your entire driveway. If you would like to have the rest of your driveway paved, please contact the contractor, Gio Contracting, at 416-783-1446. The contractor will then share contact information for the company hired to do the paving repairs. Please remember this is your option. If you decide to have your entire driveway repaved, this extra paving work is your responsibility and outside the jurisdiction of the Region of Peel.

Driveway access and parking

We may need to block your driveway for a short time during paving activities.

Please avoid parking in your driveway when it is being repaired to provide maximum access to the construction crew. The construction crew will knock on your door before work on your driveway begins. If you will not be home weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. during driveway paving, please do not leave any vehicles in the driveway.

Once the driveway is repaired, it is important to avoid driving on the new asphalt for the first three hours afterwards, and to avoid parking on the new asphalt for one day.

Please contact us if you have special needs related to driveway access.

Warranty on construction repairs

All work is under warranty until October 2023.

It is normal for repaired areas to settle a bit in the coming months. If you notice large potholes forming in the driveway, street, lawn or boulevard, please let us know and we will ensure the contractor fixes this before the end of the warranty period.

Safety during construction

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
