Apply for respite care
Respite care gives caregivers in the community a scheduled break to go on vacation, take care of their own health needs, rest, or do things for themselves. It provides clients with a place to stay for a short period of time.
Respite care is offered at the Davis Centre Peel Long Term Care in Caledon.
Respite care clients are fully integrated into the life of the home. They receive personal and medical care and participate in the centre’s activities and programs. You book your stay at the Davis Centre for up to 60 days at one time and as many as 90 days each calendar year. There is a minimum 14-night stay per booking.

Eligibility
Respite care is appropriate for adults who are frail, living with dementia, a disability, chronic illness, or other conditions. You do not need to be a resident of Peel Region to stay at the Davis Centre.
Fees
There is a daily fee for short-term respite, which you will be required to pay.
Contact your Home and Community Care Support Services coordinator to ask about the current rates, which are set by the Ministry of Long Term Care.
