At PAMA: Fabulous Fictions and Peculiar Practices: Tony Calzetta and Leon Rooke All Day

Held in conjunction with the inaugural Brampton Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD), this exhibition highlights the artistic collaboration of painter, draughtsman and printmaker, Tony Calzetta, and poet, novelist and painter, Leon Rooke that led to the creation of their book project entitled Fabulous Fictions & Peculiar Practices. In this pop-up limited edition exhibition, politics and economics mix with fictional discussions involving art critics, artists and even God. The exhibition coincides with the launch of the book’s trade edition by Erin, Ontario-based Porcupine’s Quill.

Tom Smart curated the exhibit "Fabulous Fictions and Peculiar Practices: Tony Calzetta and Leon Rooke", which runs from April 2 to June 19.

May 5: Through the Eyes of a Curator
-Join PAMA Art Gallery Curator, Thomas Smart, for a curator’s look at The Singh Twins: A Retrospective, Fabulous Fictions and Peculiar Practices: Tony Calzetta and Leon Rooke. After the talk, enjoy some tea and the floor will open up for a conversation with the audience.

May 12: Diverse Writers of Peel: Past and Present: A Conversation
-Join PAMA Museum Curator, Annemarie Hagan, for this illustrated talk which explores the lives and work of some of the writers featured in our exhibition Diverse Writers of Peel: Past and Present. After the talk enjoy some tea and the floor will open up for an invigorating conversation with the audience about their favourite local writers.

May 26: Preserving your Family History
-Join PAMA’s Regional Archivist, Jim Leonard, as he takes you through helpful pointers of how to keep your family treasures safe. He will offer a show and tell of where to store and where not to store, original photos and records in your house.
