Collection schedules

Waste services have been affected by extreme weather.

For the week of January 17:

  • Delays are expected.
  • If your street was missed leave your waste out until it's picked up.
  • Waste will be collected between Tuesday and Friday.
  • Set out your waste 1 day later than your regular collection day. (For example, if your waste is collected Tuesday, set it out for Wednesday; if your waste is collected Wednesday, set it out for Thursday.)

For the Christmas tree collection period, acceptable trees must be visible and accessible.

As a reminder:

  • Bulky items will not be collected until further notice.
  • Winter garbage exemption is suspended.
  • Garbage tags are required for excess garbage.
  • Unlimited amounts of untagged garbage will not be collected.

Waste calendars are online. Check your collection calendar for your regular collection schedule, exemption periods, and special collection dates throughout the year.

If you do not have garbage or recycling carts, visit Bag-Based Collection.

For most households, garbage and recycling collection happens every other week:

Organics is picked up every week.

Yard waste has its own schedule. Check your collection calendar for your yard waste collection.

Put your waste out by 7 a.m. on your collection day.

Collection for multi-unit dwellings

If you live in a multi-unit residence such as an apartment or condo, please contact your property management about collection services for your building.

Property managers or superintendents provide each multi-residential unit with a free, reusable bag for recyclables. Use your reusable bag to take your loose, acceptable items to your building's recycling bin.

Organics (green cart) recycling is not available for multi-unit dwellings in Peel. It is provided only to Peel households that receive curbside collection.

Curbside collection does NOT take place on:

  • New Year's Day

  • Victoria Day
  • Canada Day

The Region provides and replaces garbage, recycling and organics (green) carts to applicable residents living in Peel.
