Getting Your Child Ready for School: A Parent's Toolkit
100 practical tips and ideas
Getting Your Child Ready for School: A Parent's Toolkit is a great resource with practical activities that parents can do to ensure their children — from newborns to preschoolers — will be ready to succeed at school.
The 24-page toolkit is based on the Early Development Instrument (EDI) – a teacher-rated measure of kindergarten children’s readiness to learn at school.
With nearly 100 practical tips and ideas, the toolkit focuses on five key areas of children's development, and why each one matters to children's success and happiness at school:
- Communication skills and general knowledge
- Emotional health and maturity
- Language and cognitive development
- Physical health and well-being
- Social knowledge and competence
