Notice of completion – November 5, 2026
Background
Peel Region (“the Region”) has completed a Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for the Kennedy Road Sanitary Trunk Sewer Project. The study was undertaken to identify, evaluate, and recommend a preferred route alignment and method of construction to address long-term wastewater servicing requirements and support planned growth in the City of Brampton and Town of Caledon.
Your input is important
You are invited to review the draft Environmental Study Report (ESR) for the Kenedy Road Sanitary Trunk Sewer Project, to provide the project team with feedback and comments. This ESR documents the planning process undertaken, potential impacts and mitigation measures, and the following recommendations (Figure 1):
- Construction of approximately 19 kilometers of new sanitary trunk sewer primarily along the Kennedy Road, the Orangeville-Brampton Railway corridor, and Old School Road.
- Connection of the new trunk sewer to the existing Rutherford North Sanitary Trunk Sewer at Queen Street East and existing Etobicoke Creek and Fletcher’s Creek Sanitary Trunk Sewers.
- Implementation of construction methods, including trenchless technologies where feasible. Subject to comments received following this Notice and the receipt of approvals, the Region intends to proceed with construction of the recommended project as outlined in the ESR.

The Environmental Study Report (ESR) will be available for a 30-day public review period from November 5, 2026, to December 7, 2026. An electronic copy of the ESR will be available for public review on the project website.
