Biography of R. Kent Gillespie
R. Kent Gillespie was appointed Commissioner of Employee and Business Services in 2008 after serving as Commissioner of Corporate Services and Regional Solicitor since 1994. Kent is responsible for a range of internal services that support Regional programs and services including the Customer Contact Centre, Communication Services, Human Resources, Information and Technology Services, Purchasing, Real Property Asset Management and the Peel Heritage Complex. He has extensive experience in municipal government both at the Regional and area municipal levels.
Kent has over 30 years of law experience in both private practice and municipal government. He has a Master of Laws degree in the labour and employment field.
Kent has lived and worked in the Region of Peel for his entire career and has been involved in several community organizations during that time.
