Safety Considerations
- Make sure the gym floor is free of any obstructions, and that the floor isn’t wet or slippery.
|
Instructions
- The players space themselves around the outside of a designated rectangle. The instructor is "it" and stands in the centre of the rectangle.
- The instructor calls out commands, such as: "Hop in my space," "Move on three body parts in your space," "Jump on two feet," etc.
- When the instructor calls out "Freeze," all players freeze like statues.
- If the instructor calls out "I’m Coming to Get You," the players race to any of the four safety lines to avoid being tagged.
|
Accommodations/Modifications
- Decrease the number of safety lines to 2 to make the activity more challenging.
- Play the game like “What Time Is It, Mr. Wolf?” whereby your commands move students closer to the centre of the rectangle. For example, “Skip forward four steps.”
