Smart Size It!Making Wise Food Choices

Many of us are interested in health and want to make wise food choices. This can be a challenge, especially when we are eating out or grocery shopping.

Here are some ways to make wise food choices...

When Eating Out

  • Go for balance by choosing 1 food from each of the 4 food groups
  • Smart Size It by watching your portion sizes
  • Try the healthy choice like a grilled chicken sandwich instead of deep fried chicken

When Grocery Shopping

  • Use a grocery list that includes all the items you need for meals and snacks
  • Read the nutrition label to help you compare foods
  • Choose foods with "less fat", "less sugar" and "more fibre"
  • More Grocery Shopping Resources
