Colin Home Safety Sprout

How to Get Started:

Watching your children is key to a child’s safety.  Always have your children play where you can see them
Get down on the floor to see what your child can see
Check each room carefully - If something is broken, fix it
Check your home completely as often as possible

All Rooms
Do you have…
Emergency phone numbers, including the poison control centre, posted near all phones?
Working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors installed on every level of the home?
Doorknob covers on doorknobs?

Windows and balcony doors secured?
Cleaning products out of reach and locked away?

Remove small toys or other objects that young children might swallow
Attach rugs securely to the floor
Remove furniture with sharp corners
Remove plants from your child's reach
Secure bookcases to the walls
Place all handbags out of reach
