Best practice spotlight organization

The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario has selected Peel Long Term Care to use, test and evaluate its best practice guidelines.

Peel Long Term Care was one of 4 long-term care providers in Ontario selected to be the first to implement the guidelines as a designated best practice spotlight organization.

With support from the nurses’ association, expert mentorship and consultation on the Best Practice Guidelines and the intense work of nurses and interdisciplinary team members from various roles and departments, Peel Long Term Care has successfully implemented several Best Practice Guidelines across all 5 Long Term Care centres. Peel Long Term Care will continue to implement and spread Best Practice Guidelines in 2022, to ensure quality and safe resident-centred care for our residents.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been training Best Practice champions to work with our teams to implement quality improvement initiatives, that will continuously improve the lives of people living in our long term care homes.

Peel Long Term Care homes will continue to sustain all previous Best Practice Guidelines and implement quality improvement and resident safety initiatives related to skin and wound care and falls prevention.
