Hiring a lawn maintenance or landscaping company
As of April 22, 2009, all professional lawn maintenance companies will be required to comply with the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban Act which bans the use of pesticides for pest infestations (insects, fungi or weeds) on lawns, gardens and other outdoor areas. They will still be allowed to use biopesticide or lower risk pesticide to manage weeds, insects and plant diseases on lawns, gardens, parks and school yards.
