Meal Service

The Dietary department is responsible for the planning and preparation of meals and nourishments.  Regular diets, therapeutic diets and dietary supplements are available to meet our residents’ needs.  In addition to breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacks between meals and at bedtime are provided.  We also provide meals for our Adult Day Program clients and for the Caledon Meals on Wheels Program.  Our food is prepared in the Davis Centre kitchen.

The dining experience is a pleasurable and social time for residents.  At The Davis Centre we have a Dietary Supervisor, a Dietitian, Cooks, and Dietary Aides.  We offer residents a choice in meal selection by offering a variety within the menu-cycle.  We also prepare menus and special foods to celebrate special events and theme days.

Guest Meals

Family members and friends wishing to eat with residents at the Davis Centre must purchase a guest meal ticket from the front office.  The guest gives the meal ticket to the Dietary staff in the dining room.

Resident Food Committee

A Resident Food Committee meets regularly to discuss menus, quality of food and service with the Food Service Supervisor and Dietary Staff.  Residents are invited to participate to enhance our dietary service.

Special Family Events

If you wish to celebrate a special event i.e. birthday, anniversary etc, at the Davis Centre, you may book one of the areas in the centre for your event. We can support you by providing tea and coffee if you require.  Please contact the Administrative Supervisor or inquire at the reception desk
