About Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a non-profit agency that provides nutritious meals to seniors and people with disabilities who can't prepare meals for themselves.
Participating Region of Peel LTC centres
Brampton's Peel Manor and Caledon's Davis Centre work with local Meals on Wheels agencies to prepare nutritious meals for the elderly in the Peel community.Who is eligible
To qualify for meals you must be a person who:
- Is recovering from illness or surgery.
- Is chronically ill.
- Is unable cook due to illness or lack of time.
- Has difficulty preparing meals or has limited cooking skills.
Types of meals
Meals are planned and prepared under the guidance of a Registered dietitian. Hot meals can be prepared in minced form, be suitable for diabetics and vegetarians. Hot meals are low in salt and fat and include soup or juice, entrée and dessert.
