Peel Households Invited To Join Energy Conservation Challenge
(Brampton) -- The 20/20 Living Lab Research Challenge is recruiting three Peel households to join an eight-week study in which householders will attempt a 20-per-cent reduction in both their home energy consumption and their personal vehicle use.
The joint program between the Region of Peel and the City of Toronto will run from April 2 to May 25, 2001, and is designed to discover ways of overcoming the challenges of energy conservation.
Households selected will receive a $500 honorarium for participating in the study. Selection criteria include such factors as home ownership, size of home, commuting distances and availability of public transit.
Householders are encouraged to apply for participation soon, as only the first three qualifying households will be chosen. Interested citizens can phone 905-799-7700 for further information and to apply for the 20/20 Living Lab Research Challenge.
