Traffic impacts: Closure of Coleraine Dr. from Mayfield Rd. to Regional Rd. 50

BRAMPTON, ON (September 14, 2023) - Peel Region is extending the closure of Coleraine Drive from Mayfield Road to Regional Road 50 (Hwy 50) until November 2023. The closure is needed to continue the work to install new watermains and rehabilitate the existing sanitary sewer system on Coleraine Drive.

The southbound lane of Coleraine Drive will be fully closed. Residents and business owners within the closed portion of Coleraine Drive will only be able to access their properties from the south, no through traffic will be allowed. The northbound lane will be directed by a flag person or Peel Police during construction hours.

As a major north-south arterial road in Brampton, the road closure will increase travel times. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. Detour routes will be marked with road signs.

The work on Coleraine Drive is expected to be completed by November. Average construction noise is expected and there will be no impact to drinking water for the community.
