BRAMPTON, ON (Feb. 16, 2024) – Juliet Jackson, Director of Culture and Inclusion at Peel Region, is one of 100 Community Builders and Champions from the Black community honoured during the City of Brampton's inaugural Black History Month event on Feb. 1 at the Rose Theatre. In line with the UN proclamation of the "International Decade of People of African descent: recognition, justice and development," this event honoured the achievements and contributions of Black community members who have played a role in making the City of Brampton the vibrant, compassionate and prosperous city it is today.

During her 31-year career at Peel Region, Juliet has established herself as an accomplished strategic leader, coach and influencer in the public sector. As the Director of Culture and Inclusion, Juliet is leading the charge, in partnership with community leaders, local municipalities and internal and external stakeholders, to address and dismantle racism, anti-black racism and systemic discrimination in Peel.

She has played a pivotal role in shifting Peel's organizational culture to be more inclusive. Known as a disruptor, Juliet is dedicated to nurturing safety for all, guiding leaders to navigate uncomfortable spaces, and embodying the characteristics necessary to make inclusion a reality - compassion, empathy, and accountability. During Black History Month and beyond we honour Black leaders and their work to dismantle systemic barriers and create meaningful and lasting change.

Juliet Jackson stands out as an example of leadership and dedication. Peel is deeply proud of her and how she has transformed and continues to transform our organization's culture. She applies a strategic approach to creating inclusive spaces, effecting change that is sustainable, and is always guided by empathy for those around her. Through her leadership and collaboration with partners she is breaking down barriers and moving our organization, and the Peel community, forwards.
