Notice of Application - Proposed Regional Official Plan Amendment to Expand the Bolton Rural Service Center

Community Involvement

The Region of Peel has received a Regional Official Plan Amendment application. Notice is being provided pursuant Section 22 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P.13 as amended.

Applicant: Zancor Homes (Bolton) Ltd
Site Area: 10.4 hectares (25.7 acres)
Regional File: ROPA-20-001
Location: 13935, 13951, 13977, and 13999 Chickadee Lane; 0
King Street; 550, 600, and 615 Glasgow Road. The subject lands are in the Town of Caledon, just outside of the Bolton Rural Service Center.

Proposed Changes

The purpose of the application is to include the subject lands in the Bolton Rural Service Centre Boundary of the Region of Peel Official Plan. The effect of application is an expansion to the settlement boundary of approximately 10.4 hectares of new developable lands.

This application is being brought forward for consideration as a less than 40-hectare settlement expansion under the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (2019) to meet 2041 growth needs

Related Applications

The lands are also subject to another Region of Peel Official Plan Amendment Application, File #ROPA-14-002, known as the Bolton Residential Expansion Area. The related application considers options for expanding the Bolton Rural Service Center, and part of the subject lands were included as an option. Regional Decision and More Information

If the Council of The Regional Municipality of Peel decides to adopt the amendment, parties who made submissions may appeal. If the Council of The Regional Municipality of Peel does not make a decision or refuses to adopt the amendment, there are no appeals permitted except for the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
