Transportation
Transportation Planning plays an
important role in achieving the Region's Official
Plan goals of creating healthy communities, respecting
the environment, supporting economic growth and
encouraging development in an effective and efficient
manner.
The transportation system in Peel includes freeways
that are under provincial jurisdiction, major
roads that are under either provincial, regional
or area municipal jurisdiction and public transit
systems that are under provincial or area municipal
jurisdiction.
Our Transportation Planning section works closely
with all the stakeholders on a long range transportation
planning exercise to develop an integrated, safe
and efficient transportation system to move people
and goods in the Region.
