Noise wall replacement on Finch Avenue

What are we doing?

  • Replacement of existing private noise wall/fence with a new Region-owned noise wall to improve noise mitigation. View attached map.
  • The work includes, but is not limited to:
    • clearing, grubbing, and pruning
    • tree and/or stump removals
    • removal and disposal of existing noise wall and/or fence
    • installation of new noise wall
    • extension of existing backyard fences to new noise wall;
    • restoration

Where?

  • Finch Avenue from Highway 427 to Darcel Avenue/Longo Circle;
  • Darcel Avenue from Finch Avenue to Brandon Gate Drive.

When?

  • Week of September 11, 2017 to the end of November 2017, weather permitting

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 8 am to 6 pm

Traffic and Parking Control

  • Temporary lane closures will be required during non-peak hours.
  • All intersections will remain open but temporary lane closures will be necessary.
  • Peel Regional Police will be present during lane closures at all intersections to direct traffic safely
  • Emergency access will be maintained at all times
  • Barriers and signs will be placed for safety and direction, as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Driveway Access

  • We anticipate no impact to any driveway access.
