Tours of the Lakeview Water Treatment Facility

Do your students know where their drinking water comes from and how it is treated to ensure there is always a safe, reliable supply, at the turn of a tap?

The Region of Peel offers free tours of the Lakeview Water Treatment Facility to community groups and students in grade eight and up. Students will be led by Regional staff and treatment plant operators through Peel's state-of-the-art water treatment facility. By observing the various stages of the drinking water treatment process first-hand, students gain a better understanding of how the water is transported from Lake Ontario to their tap, and the importance of water quality and wise water use.
