Emergency Detour Route

Caledon (Highway 410/10)

Emergency Detour Routes (EDR) are pre-determined routes to help you bypass an emergency road closure and minimize delays in your travel. In case a provincial highway is closed, please follow the specially marked signs to go around the troubled zone.

The purpose is to divert/detour traffic in the event of a provincial highway closure.

Peel has one Emergency Detour Route in Caledon to divert traffic in bypassing the continuous stretch of Highway 10 and Highway 410 between King Street and Mayfield Road. Please view the map for detour directions.

The Caledon route was developed by the Ministry of Transportation, Town of Caledon, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Region of Peel. The route selected is based on several factors such as travel time and the ability to efficiently accommodate increased traffic volumes.
