  • Region of Peel and Joint Peel-Caledon Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) Receive Award for Accessibility

    Regional Chair Emil Kolb and William Goursky, Chair of the Joint Peel-Caledon AACOn May 3, 2008, the Region of Peel and the Joint Peel-Caledon Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) were honoured with an award for outstanding contributions in the area of accessibility. This award was presented by Human Endeavour and the Punjabi Community Health Centre at the South Asian Heritage Day and Recognition Awards ceremony held in Woodbridge, Ontario.

    The Region of Peel has taken the lead in ensuring its commitment to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. The Region of Peel annual Accessibility Plan outlines the Region’s strategy in making significant progress towards becoming barrier-free. The Joint Peel-Caledon AAC assists the Region in its efforts to raise awareness of accessibility issues and incorporating accessibility into its services and programs.

    This award recognizes the Region of Peel and the Joint Peel-Caledon AAC for their outstanding efforts in making the Region barrier free.
